Sao Paolo

Today was an busy, nice and hard day all at the same time. We went to the center of Sao Paolo. Here you have to be careful about everything; what you wear, what you take with you and who you look at. It's not made up to make the movies more scary it's just the truth. I could not believe it untill I saw it myself. It's hard to explain you have to see it to understand, I tried to make pictures but I could not do it a lot. Simply because it's dangerous. In this city there are no tourists at all, you have to know the city to know how to behave and where to go. I was lucky because I'm with my friend who knows almost every unwritten rule that belongs to this metropole. It's hard for me to write how it feels and what I saw; big trash on every corner with an homeless searching for food in every bin, the fair with a lot of guys in suits smoking their last cigarette before returning in the 'moneycircle', old people wearing literally an board with an arrow to show to people where the parking place is - they get probably 10reais = around 3,3euro for 1 day, just normal people going from work to home routine that looks like every other big city in the world, childeren eating from the floor, cars going so fast if you don't watch out you'll be under it, an big street with poor people selling everything they've got, they yell they screem like on an fair but than for an smaller amount of money, childeren laying on the floor in front of an shop totaly fucked up of using crack or sniffing glue. I saw a lot of things already, this was something particular. I know this sounds very bed, this is how I felt after seeing it, being there together with the normal people. Because in Brazil you always take the car wherever you go, you can of course take the metro, we did it without problems, but you have to be inconspicuous. We talk always in French because it's the only language we share and people were all looking at us, simpley because there are no tourists. As courious I am and as great as my friend is, we thought it's important to see all of Brazil. So we decided to go to the bar of Hotel Unique tonight. As bad as it was during the day as unbelivable as it was during the night. I can't again explain what I saw. I'll try. First of all the building of this hotel is brilliant. It has something futuristic. When you arrive you go into an black elevator. Our taxi driver said to us that he hated this hotel because he could not see anything, everything is black. You go on top of the building and you see the city by night. You can't see the end because this city is incradibly big, but it feels like you float on top of it. There's an pool and all around there's 2m glass. It was incradible beautiful, I could not believe it. I've saw already a lot of big city's and every city has something like this, an sky lounge, but this was different, you can't imagine how big an city can be and how it feels to be on top of it. After the things I saw during the day I could not believe it's the same city.

La Bonbonera - Boca Juniors

La Bonbonera means a chocolate candybox and is the famous stadion of the Boca Juniors in Buenos Aires, neighbourhood Boca. It´s very very small and all is blue and yellow, the colors of the footballclub. They choose these two colours because they didn´t know what to choose in 1904 when the club was founded. So they sat at the river and decided to choose the colours of the first flag on the first boat which will pass. The boat of Sweden pased bye and thay chose for blue and yellow. It was cool to be there, there was no game but to know that one of the biggest footballers in the world, Maradona, played there a lot of times was enough for me. And it´s even more cool because our famous Bosnian Director Emir Kusturica made an documentary last year with Maradona.

Salvador - Bahia

Salvador is the capital of Bahia, province in Brazil. It´s wellknown to its easygoing population and countless popular outdoor parties, including its street carnival. Actually the whole Bahia is wellknown for it´s easygoing residents. We went to an small unbelivable beautiful village named Barra Grande. It´s an ´happy' peninsula with it´s streets from zand and only coco and banana trees. The most beautiful beaches and very nice people. There´s an famous expression in Brazil about Bahia: sorria! você está na Bahia! - laugh because you´re in Bahia. We stayed at Thalitha´s (my friends firend) beautiful beachhouse. Everything was made out of natural materials, whereever you stand you can see and hear the sea, there was an swimmingpool in front of my bedroom door and everyehere hammocks. Thalita is the queen of Forro (the famous dance of Bahia) she teaches everybody this dance and every night there was a party at the beach. It´s unbelivable how important it is to know how to dance, it´s a big part of the evening next to the drinking. Brazilian people drink at first a lot of ice-icecold beer, they serve it in 1L bottles in an plastic bottle to keep it cold then they drink it out of small glasses so it stays cold as long as possible. Second is the caipirigna (with cachaca) and than caipirosca (with vodka).

Capoeira

Capoeira is an martial art / dance that came from Angola to Brazil (Bahia - province in Brazil) together with the slaves. They used it to defend themselfs and that's why they made it look like an dance. It was amezing to see it so close, it looked realy easy, like everybody can do it..

Cleaning ladies

This sweet woman travels 4 times a week 2 houers from outside of the city to clean my friends beautiful appartment. She works 4 days from 10h - 17h in this place, who knows where else. She asked me if I had some clothes to wash or iron, I just have to give it to her. She made me dinner while I was working. She has 2 girls and she's happy that they go to school because she didn't had this opportunity.

5. Most likely, your waxer will tweeze any stray hairs.

Subtropical

São Paulo has a subtropical climate. The Tropic of Capricorn (Steenbokskeerkring) is going through the city. That means that a part is in the subtropical climate - and that means that it's hot, wet, the air is humid and there's no sunshine - and that means that I can feel it.
